Father's Day, For Witnesses or Not?

i did a quick cdrom search on this holiday.

there is not a single article that ties this holiday to paganism.

there are a few about mother's day.

Oh no, you can't celebrate father's day. If you bought your Dad a gift in appreciation for providing food, clothing, shelter and love your entire childhood than that would be $$$ less dollars you'd drop in the conned-tribution box.

Reduction of Announcements

starting the week of september 3rd they will cease having local announcement as part of the service meeting.

is there going to be a much reduction of the letters sent to the congregation?

will everyone be expected to read the bulletin board to know what is going on?

@ JakeM2012: You're an asshole In my cong the brothers wouldn't care if you ran over two hours, they're gonna give their part and take a few extra minutes to boot or else. I don't have a recent memory of an evening meat-ing ending on time, they ALWAYS run at least five, if not ten, minutes overtime; I'm tired, I don't want to be there, I'm surrounded by people I can't stand, it's cold, the hall smells "funny", the lightings bad and now I am forced to sit through more of this bullshit than was planed?

Nope no softening, and I don't see it happening anytime soon; they know associating with one's who have seen the real light would be devastating so they keep the pressure on by tightening the screws.

@ 00DAD there was a paragraph form last week’s study (on 06/10/12) that had a paragraph towards the end of the study on "avoiding" a disfellowshipped family member and the happifying results. I think it was the 4/15/12 mag second article; if you can find blondie's overview from last week you can read what it said, again it's towards the end of the article.

hi guys and gals,.

as it's been a good 3 years since i visited a kingdom hall, i was wondering if the keeping of hours still applies?

therefore, does anyone have a pdf of the report slip?.

Oh you don't deposit them anymore, not in my cong anyway.

You're supposed to give them to your field circus group overseer.

So now, instead of quickly filling one of these out and cramming it in a box so you can make a hasty retreat from the hall after a meat-ing, you have to hunt down the asshole you need to had it to, engage a greeting to get his attention to hand him the slip that leads to awkward small talk and then fight your way past everyone who's condescendingly saying hello without even looking you in the face just to get the hell outta there; oh and don’t forget to fold it a million times so no one else around you can see the activity you “fudged” on that report.
